CRIPPLING SHOT

CRIPPLING SHOT, as the talent picker draws it in Ada's Trail

CRIPPLING SHOT is a control talent in the WINDRUNNER tree, the one DEXTERITY pays for: a roll on every hit to slow what it struck to a hobble.

It is ALWAYS ON. There is nothing to press, nothing to aim, no mana and no cooldown — once the point is spent it is part of the hero, on every map, for the rest of that hero's life.

Every rank costs one DEXTERITY talent point, and a point is 10 points of DEXTERITY the player chose to spend. So carrying it at 5 means 50 chosen points of DEXTERITY that bought nothing else in the tree.

Your shots sometimes slow foes to a hobble.

  • THE ROLL HAS A CEILINGthe hobble can never fire more often than 75% of the time, and the last rank sits on that ceiling — a talent that rolled its way to a certainty would stop being a talent and start being the weapon.
  • A SPENT POINT IS PERMANENTa respec can move the stat points that earned it, but never below 10 × the ranks already spent in that tree — the talent is kept, and the DEXTERITY holding it up is locked in place.

The rest of the WINDRUNNER tree

Every one of these is bought out of the same DEXTERITY points, so a rank here is a rank not spent on any of them.
