THE PLANTED FLAG
- ELITE
THE PLANTED FLAG is a named elite somewhere off the campaign path.
Not a creature: the flag itself, driven back into the grave it was first planted on. THE FLAGBEARER raises it when the night turns against him, and whatever lies under the Sea of Tranquility answers a knock on the lid.

What to know
- STRUCTURENot a creature at all — a thing that was put here, standing where it was driven in. It has no voice, it never comes for you, and it is worth no experience. It is only in the way, and it can be broken.
- PART OF A WHOLEPays 0× a monster of its level rather than a full set-piece reward — the fight it belongs to is priced as one.
- WHAT IT WAS CARRYINGNothing. It has no pockets, and never had wages — a kill pays in gear, not in coin.
- WHEN STRUCKIt comes apart in ectoplasm. A blow that overwhelms it bursts it, and the goo it was holding together goes everywhere.
Mechanics
Every dangerous move is telegraphed — it roots, it winds up, and you get the beat you need to be somewhere else.
- SUMMONEvery 2.8s it calls 2 more out of the ground, up to 4 of its own summons alive at once. They arrive outside the level's wave budget, so they are extra rather than borrowed. It calls MOON GHOST.
