CHIEF OF SECURITY
- ELITE
- GOODCO HQ
CHIEF OF SECURITY is a named elite on GOODCO HQ, a place of staff.
He watched the vending-machine cameras the night Ada was taken, and he read the flight papers that listed her not as a passenger but as a specimen. He was paid well to forget both, and the money has not worked.

Where you meet it
GOODCO HQ
It is placed by hand on GOODCO HQ and waits at its post until you come close.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| EASY | 3 | 210 | 21 | 207 |
| MEDIUM | 3 | 294 | 21 | 207 |
| HARD | 5 | 420 | 22 | 242 |
| NIGHTMARE | 44 | 735 | 46 | 7143 |
What to know
- ON SHIFTPotters about its post until something wakes it.
- THE ENTRANCECloses at 130/s until it has said its piece, then fights at its own pace.
- WHAT IT WAS CARRYINGMore than it should be. Its corpse sheds 2× the gold an ordinary body of its rank does.
- WHEN STRUCKIt bleeds. A blow that overwhelms it bursts it, and there is a face among what lands.
Mechanics
Every dangerous move is telegraphed — it roots, it winds up, and you get the beat you need to be somewhere else.
- CHARGEInside 180 it locks its bearing, roots for 0.7s, then dashes 234 along that line at 3.5× speed with its blows carrying 1.5× damage. The bearing locks at the START of the windup, so a sidestep beats it. Once every 6s.
- RALLY CRYIt roots for 0.7s first, and then it shouts. Everything hostile within 200 comes at you 25% faster and hits 20% harder for 6s — and wakes up, if it was not already. It does nothing to you at all, which is exactly why it is dangerous: the answer is not a dodge, it is deciding to kill the one doing the shouting first. Once every 13s.
- SHOCK PULSEIt roots for 0.5s first, then throws a ring 54 out from itself: 65% of its contact damage, and a shove hard enough to put you back out at range. The shove is the point rather than the damage — it is answering the habit of standing on top of it and trading. A jump clears it, exactly like a slam. Once every 8.5s.
What it drops
Every kill pays one piece of gear, one medkit and one XP scroll.
Its drops roll 25% better on the rarity ladder than the level's ordinary loot.
Guaranteed pieces by rarity: 1 magic. A rarity the monster's own level has not unlocked yet is skipped, so the same fight pays better on a harder rung.
